Over 1,500 books were used to create this website. I have been studying World War II since I was a child. This was my undergraduate thesis at Fordham University in 1999. It was in two parts; a European theatre thesis and an Asian/Pacific theatre thesis. 

In addition to the books, many websites were consulted. The most important were Ancestry.com; Fold3.com; and Newspapers.com. I used these websites to construct the biographies of the people in the photographs.  
 
Other important websites include the National Archives; the Library of Congress; and military history sites like the Naval History and Heritage Command; the National Museum of the United States Air Force; the United States Army Center of Military History; the United States Coast Guard history; and the Marine Corps History Division.
