| German prisoners of war, captured on December 12, 1944, by E, G, and H Companies, 2nd Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division, when they captured the town of D’Horn. The garrison there was exhausted, and after a brief fight, surrendered, netting E Company many prisoners. They were loaded onto trucks and taken to Jungersdorf, which the 1st Infantry Division had captured on November 27. The attack was somewhat helped by rain, which soaked the box mines that would’ve taken out the tanks accompanying 2nd Battalion. However, many tanks got stuck in the mud and none were unable to enter the town, so E Company cleared D’Horn with small arms.
