| The Arcadia Conference (Atlantic Charter) attendees after the letter from King George VI (December 14, 1895 – February 6, 1952) was read to the press. No recording exists, despite it being read out twice, because the sound equipment malfunctioned. Left to Right: United States Navy Ensign Franklin Delano Roosevelt Jr. (August 17, 1914 – August 17, 1988); United Kingdom Prime Minister Winston S. Churchill (November 30, 1874 – January 24, 1965); United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt (January 30, 1882 – April 12, 1945); and United States Army Air Force Captain Elliott Roosevelt (September 23, 1910 – October 27, 1990). Elliot and Franklin Jr., despite being commissioned officers on active duty, attended both the Arcadia and Casablanca Conferences.
