| A photograph of Chef des Stab des Stellvertreters des Führers Martin Bormann (June 17, 1900 – May 2, 1945) on the occasion of Führer und Reichskanzler (“Leader and Reichchancellor”) Adolf Hitler’s (April 20, 1889 – April 30, 1945) 49th birthday. He is wearing the Reichsleiter-Uniform. Photo by Heinrich Hoffmann (September 12, 1885 – December 16, 1957), Führer und Reichskanzler (“Leader and Reichchancellor”) Adolf Hitler’s (April 20, 1889 – April 30, 1945) official photographer. Unable to control or issue orders to an increasingly alcoholic Hoffmann by 1941, who had connected Hitler with his mistress (later wife) Eva Braun (February 6, 1912 – April 30, 1945) who was an employee in his studio, Bormann suggested he see Doctor Theodor Morell (July 22, 1886 – May 26, 1948) because Hoffmann looked ill. But Morell switched stool samples – substituting his son’s, Heinrich “Heini” Hoffmann Junior (October 24, 1916 – September 11, 1988). Hoffmann’s son had Typhoid B bacteria from war service. Despite the elder Hoffmann seeking a 2nd opinion in Vienna with specialists, Bormann banned him Führerhauptquartiere (“Führer Headquarters”). | |
