Original caption: “Infantry, in their snow-covered position, waiting for the order to attack.” United Kingdom Royal Army soldiers of the 53rd (Welsh) Infantry Division, armed with Short Magazine Lee-Enfield Mark IIIs and a Bren light machine gun, form a firing line outside Hotton, about 15 miles southeast of Marche. Not in this view are the tanks and armored fighting vehicles of the 34th Brigade supporting the attack.
