Paul Verhoven directs The Black Book, the story of a Jewish German girl who loses her family trying to escape from occupied Holland, and then joins the resistance to be betrayed when trying to liberate resistance prisoners from the Gestapo.
Starring Carice van Houten, this film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival to positive reviews. Since this is a Verhoven film, expect a great deal of misogyny, female nudity and possibly fascination with fascism.
