Serial TD248 was delivered to 695 RAF Squadron in May of 1945. It was used in the film Battle of Britain in 1968, In May 2001 the aircraft was severely damaged in an accident that injured the pilot/owner, but he recovered quickly. The aircraft took twelve months of restoration to return it to flying status. The Mark XVI was the last of the Roman numeral marked Spitfires, future Spitfires had a regular Arabic numeral mark. It also has the "e" wing with two 20mm cannon and two .50 caliber machine guns.
