Painted in wartime Polish Red Army colors, the T-34/85 was the mainstay of the Soviet forces during 1944-1945. Armed with an 85mm gun to combat the Panther and Tiger tanks, it could hold its own assuming the crew had been trained and could operate effectively. Unfortunately even late in the war it was hard to give Red Army soldiers effective training in combined arms, so many T-34s were lost. But they were produced in huge numbers - over 22,500 were built in the last two years of the war. It was the second most produced tank in history after the T-54/55 series that succeeded it.
