Dressing Wounds of Private JB Slagle on USS Solace (AH-5)

Original caption: “Private J.B. Slagle, United States Army, receives his daily dressing of wounds on board USS Solace (AH-5) enroute from Okinawa to Guam.” JB Slagle (February 20, 1923 – February 7, 2013) was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Enlisted in the United States Army on December 17, 1943, he landed on Okinawa on April 1, 1945, and was wounded on April 20, 1945. His recovery took 5 months. After recovery and discharge, Slagle lived in California and worked for General Electric and General Dynamics before starting his own company, Ultra-Dynamics.
