Patton Junior (November 11, 1885 – December 21, 1945) was a flamboyant and aggressive combat leader, famous for his leadership of II Corps in North Africa and Sicily. He commanded 3rd Army during its rapid advance across France in 1944. United States Army General Major General Ernest N. Harmon (February 26, 1894 – November 13, 1979, was an officer best known as a commander of armored units in North Africa and Europe. He led Combat Command B of the 1st Armored Division in Tunisia, later commanded the 2nd and 1st Armored Divisions, and eventually became a 4-star general after the war. United States Army Colonel Hobart R. Gay (August 16, 1894 – August 19, 1983) was Patton’s longtime Chief of Staff during World War II, serving with him in North Africa, Sicily, and Europe.
