Churchill Tanks of the 34th Brigade

United Kingdom Royal Army Churchill tanks of the 34th Brigade, attached to the 53rd (Welsh) Infantry Division, XXX Corps, training new replacements while they await orders to begin Operation Veritable (also known as the Battle of the Reichswald). This was the northern part of an Allied pincer movement that took place between February 8 – March 11, 1945, during the final stages of the war on the Western Front. The operation was conducted by Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery’s Anglo-Canadian 21st Army Group.
