Fourth Armored Division Infantry Open Fire Outside Bastogne

Original caption: “Infantrymen, attached to the Fourth Armored Division, fire at German troops, in the American advance to relieve the pressure on surrounded airborne troops.” These infantrymen attached to the United States Army’s 4th Armored Division relived the 101st Airborne Division the day before, but still are fighting to keep German units clear of the town. They are firing M1 Garand rifles.
