In the resulting clash several of the Germans were killed. Photos show the capture of one. (C). One of the infantrymen goes out on a one-man sortie, covered by a buddy with a thirty-caliber machine gun. Eighty-Second Airborne Division, Bra, Belgium.” Technician 5th Class Emil D. Edgren (October 8, 1949 – August 9, 2020) took this photograph of an 82nd Airborne Division soldier, armed with a Thompson submachine gun, crossing under fire during the battle for Bra. On December 25, the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division took up new defensive positions on an along Bergifaz, Bra, Vaux, and Chavanne. The other 3 regiments of the Division pulled back to new positions. | |
