This entire street was closed to publlic traffic, and only Churchill and the Royal Army and Navy officers could enter here. According to the tour, on August 14, 1945, the last two duty officers here just closed the place up and walked away. When they opened it again to renovate for a museum, they found rooms left jsut as they were when the war ended. And some were in really bad shape. Right-click and choose "view image" to enlarge.
