This room would receive the weather reports and aerial photos and other data and synthesize it together to figure out where the German heavy coastal guns were in France, and their distance from the British heavy guns. They would then calculate how much powder charge, how high the barrel would be elevated, and what angel the gun needed to be turned to make a successful impact on the target. Because in two minutes, this beast could open fire as well. And the Germans had better, heavier guns in the Pas de Calais, which was just 22 miles from Dover. This gun was 15" and could be used against land or sea targets. They are still there, if you ever visit.
