In January 2006, I ventured to England on business, and of course spent my time visiting all the places I’d only read about. I happened to be visiting when the Science Museum was exhibiting the history of the Spitfire, so I packed myself and my wife straight away to the Science Museum and snapped these views of a Spitfire Mark 22 which had been shipped from RAF storage right to the museum. This particular aircraft was last flown in 1949, when it had a small accident and was crated up in case the Communists ever invaded. It was disassembled at the museum and displayed as you see here.
