Reports today that Tom Cruise is starring in a Bryan Singer production of a World War II movie about the assassination of Hitler. The movie may be about the July 20, 1944 Plot to Kill Hitler. Or it may be something else, or it may be a ficitonal story. I'm hoping Cruise is playing Claus Von Stauffenberg.

Well, Drupal's taking a longer time to learn, so the site is updated with some slight changes. Please bear with me as I try to update things and learn the new system. The updates won't be readily apparent, but users will have access to Amazon.com books and DVDs, and more information in general through expanded links to other websites.

This from PBS composer John Keltonic:
Jason,
I had a chance this month to score a PBS film that's really different. Called "The Power Of Forgiveness", the film takes a look at forgiveness from several different perspectives, including relatives of those killed on 9/11, holocaust survivor Elie Weisel, and even the Amish community that was devastated by the mass murder of children at one of their schools last year. Pretty fascinating stuff, actually.
Because of the nature of the film, I had a chance to compose and produce a fair amount of "ethnic" music (Irish, Vietnamese, mid-eastern, etc.), which is a challenge, but always fun to do!
The airdate for this PBS special hasn't yet been set, but you can hear a few shortened samples from the score, below.

From a friend:
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is my pleasure to announce that tonight the CBS Evening News will broadcast their version of a story that I produced exclusively for Tokyo Broadcasting System. If you have a chance to watch this evening, it will be the last story of tonight’s newscast at about 6:50 p.m. EST. I believe it will also be on the CBS website.
The story is about Vic Voegelin, a WWII veteran who wants to return the souvenir he took from the battle of Iwo Jima – a cache of personal letters to a Japanese soldier – to the surviving family members in Japan. I worked a lot on this story and through TBS we were able to find the family members in Japan and put them in touch with Vic. It turns out that the Japanese family had no idea that their soldier had ever been in Iwo Jima, let alone died there, since they were told that he had died “somewhere in the Ogasawaras”.
If this interests you, I encourage you to watch the piece. The spoils of war is one of many chapters in WWII history and this story provides a snapshot.
Best regards,
John Ellis-Guardiola
Associate Producer
Tokyo Broadcasting System
