Today's News About HMS Belfast
Hundreds of miles and days away from a British-controlled base, HMS Belfast would not only make repairs for herself, but for smaller ships damaged as well. The machine shop would be able to cut away battle damage, fabricate replacement parts for minor damage, and create fittings that were lost, washed away or damaged. For major repairs, they would need to put into a large port or come alongside a base repair ship.
