HMS Belfast

HMS Belfast, Edinburgh-class cruiser, (modified Southampton-class). She was launched March 17, 1938; commisioned August 5, 1939; mined November 21, 1939; returned to fleet November 1942; participated in the Battle of the North Cape, in which KMS Schranhorst was sunk; escorted the Normandy invasion; fought in the Korean War; decommissioned August 24, 1963; museum since 1971.
