This Mark IIIA is actually tail number V9300. Built in Canada in 1942, this particular aircraft flew with the Royal Canadian Air Force as no. 1558 with the serial number Y1351. Converted to air-sea rescue and target towing duties, many flights to France and other occupied countries to infiltrate Special Operations Executive (SOE) agents and retrieve them. This aircraft was delivered to the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and is powered by a Mercury XX engine. Right-click and choose "view image" to enlarge.
