1940

The darkest time for the Allies. France falls in May. The United Kingdom is left to stand alone against the Nazis and virtually without defenses against invasion. Only a few fighter pilots stand in their way. Meanwhile, English civilians are targeted by air in a way never seen before. Italy declares war and invades North Africa.

In China, the Japanese realize that they cannot make any more gains with their current military strength. They hold coastal cities, but cannot adavnce into the Chinese interior. Chiang Kai-Shek is more worried about the Communists than the Japanese.
